Project Details

The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries (MEMC) launched the AMP National Project for Burkina Faso on February 16, 2023. This program aims to promote innovation and technology transfers in the field of decentralized distribution and renewable energy storage solutions.

The objective is to improve access to clean energy by strengthening the financial viability of photovoltaic mini-grids and encouraging large-scale commercial investments in this sector in Burkina Faso.

The project will also support the government's recovery efforts following the COVID-19 pandemic and will strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities by supporting their livelihoods and offering income-generating activities.

It should contribute significantly to accelerating the rural electrification of the country by offering a competitive solution for the electrification of areas not connected to the grid.
